The Nature of Lake Como

The Nature of Lake Como

30 April 2016

Clear water, relaxing landscapes, green meadows…we’re on Lake Como!

Not only a testimony of art, culture and traditions, but also the ideal destination for tourists who want to spend a holiday in contact with nature, Lake Como is totally immersed in a mix of pristine natural oasis and breathtaking views to regenerate your body and soul.

The area offers visitors many opportunities for green tourism. From Upper Lake Como, through the mountain valleys and down until the Brianza area, the area is a blur of parks and natural reserves, rich in vegetation and populated by many animal species, places  where it is possible to do activities, tours and workshops to fully appreciate the nature of the territory.

The landscapes and views that the whole area offers are alone well worth a visit.

A mix of different colors and atmospheres in every season that can be admired from various scenic view points from where you can be in awe of the spectacle created by nature and man, especially on clear days.

The charm of nature is in the long summer sunsets, the warm autumn light that wraps everything, the pure winter white and the fresh spring shades.

To explore these quiet valleys we recommend you to leave your car and, during the good season, continue on foot or by bicycle along mule tracks through meadows and woods. Meanwhile in the winter season you can slide down the slopes on your skis or with snowshoes enjoying the endless views of the highlands.

Over the last few years the Provinces of Como and Lecco, thanks to specific projects that feature a sustainable mobility, have supported and promoted activities of slow tourism to allow travelers to discover local traditions and hidden places.
