It was an incredible experience and our team of explorers most definitely enjoyed themselves! Discover what it’s like going snowshoeing in Valtellina!
The best way to experience the landscapes of Valtellina, enjoying the slow rhythm of nature, walking along the snow. The Province of Sondrio is without a doubt, the ideal place for this activity, thanks to the abundance of snow and gorgeous scenery.
Over the last few years, snowshoeing has become increasingly popular. It’s a great and simple activity that lets you see the beauty of the mountains without strapping on skis!
All you have to do is strap the snowshoes on top of your trekking shoes in order to increase the surface in contact with the snow. Walking slow will give you the chance to enjoy the peace and quiet and maybe even catch a wild animal or two!
Valtellina offers plenty of locations to hit the snow. Try the Campo Moro all’Alpe Campagneda in Valmalenco, the woods of Living or the National Stelvio Park (here you can see wild ibex and other animals), the Andossi Alps, Pian Gembro just outside Aprica, and the paths of the Trivigno Alps. For those looking for a bit more flat and simple routes, check out Santa Caterina Valfurva- you can even try nighttime snowshoeing, a one of a kind experience!
Valtellina and Valchiavenna offer the best routes for snowshoeing, all ranked by skill level, lenght, and ratings. Check it out: www.valtellinasport.com/sport-invernali/luoghi/cat/percorsi-per-ciaspole-13
