Elisir, Grappa, and Beer – From the elixir at Borducan to the Amaretto of Saronno
18 June 2016
The peculiar conformation of Varese Province, a land of lakes, hills, valleys, and, in particular, large woodlands, is reflected in the gastronomy and in the typical food products. In fact the area of Varese had been home of different popular drinks, easy to find in Italy or abroad, like the beers from Birrificio Poretti, born more than 130 years ago, or Amaretto of Saronno, that comes from a legend that in 1500 made it very popular. But if you ever end up to Varese, don’t forget to try the “Elixir at Borducan”, an infusion of orange and aromatic herbs and the different Grappas produced by Rossi d’Angera.
