On the first day in Mantua, our team adventured through the charming streets, finding their way to the Bibiena Theater. This extraordinary theater dates back to 1767 and was built by Antonio Bibiena and decorated by Giuseppe Piermarini. Upon entering, it’s hard not to be moved by the elegant space, with intricately detailed columns and balconies that look over the stage. The theater is just small enough to create a sense of intimacy, where you can only imagine seeing a performance by the great classical composers. In fact, it was in this very theater that Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart played a concert, which his father, Leopold Mozart would later claim “In all my life, I have never seen anything more beautiful of its kind”. A truly special experience, our team got a behind the scenes peek at this one of a kind testament to the cultural heritage of Mantua.
