Best Experiences in Valtellina

23 March 2016

Our bloggers are back from the tour in Valtellina. What did they enjoy most about the experience? Check out their thoughts on the whole weekend!

The Crowded Planet:

It was an awesome weekend, the weather was stunning, a great beginning to this year’s spring! We had blue skies during the day, stars and the full moon shining at night that made the Valtellina landscapes look even more beautiful than what they normally are. If I had to choose my favourite moment of this great weekend, I would opt for dogsledding. I am a huge animal and mountain lover and dogsledding in Arnoga really brought the best of both worlds together. I had been dogsledding before but never with such a view, and I really wish I’ll have the chance to return one day for a longer dogsledding experience.

I wasn’t supposed to take this pic as I was driving the sled, but I really couldn’t resist… I mean, check out this view!

Luxe Adventure Traveler:

Valtellina surprised me with having so much to offer, each town had its own unique qualities that made you want to spend a day there. From enjoying the wine and cheese across the valley to the snow activities around Bormio there is really something for everyone.

Scopri e Viaggi:

The weekend spent in Valtellina was full of surprises and new experiences. We dined on some incredible food, visited villages like Chiavenna and Gerola Alta, and hit the snow with our four-legged friends. However, what really struck me was the snowshoeing, which was my first time!

Walking in the snowshoes gave me the impression of being on flippers, but other than that, it was awesome coming in contact with nature and slowing down to take it all in, enjoying the sounds of the Stelvio National Park. That was incredible. It’s hard not to feel small while surrounded by such magnificent landscapes, which I didn’t expect to find in Valtellina.

Il Turista:

Love at first sight! Crossing into the Palazzo Vertamate Franchi in Chiavenna was absolutely incredible: a real gem from the 16th century and one of a kind residence to visit in the heart of the Alps!
